Cold Opening Category

Grapesoda22, why did you remove the Cold Opening Episodes category from most of the pages? Siberian99 (talk) 08:25, January 16, 2014 (UTC)

I was wondering about that too. I assumed he felt it an unnecessary category. Edd Shwartz (talk) 23:22, January 16, 2014 (UTC)

I propose that the category be added back into the relevant pages. I do not see why it was possibly considered unnecessary when compared to other categories that we have (though I personally don't have a problem with a lot of categories so long as they serve a purpose). --Siberian99 (talk) 04:27, January 17, 2014 (UTC)
I wasn't going to say anything earlier, but I'm not sure he reads the Wiki activity. The only time I've seen him respond to a talk page was when he's already edited it, so an update would be sent to his E-Mail. I think you're going to have to write on his talk page. Edd Shwartz (talk) 02:40, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't follow these talk pages and message broads to closely, if you want my attention the best way is to send me a message. As for the Cold Opening Episodes it just didn't seem like to useful. Mainly because the only episodes (bedsides "Allen Part One") are in season 1-3. It would be easier just to mention they were discontinued on the season 4 page rather then basically re-list the first three seasons in this category. Grapesoda22 (talk) 04:21, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
Good point, I never thought about it like that. Siberian99 (talk) 20:45, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
I was going to stay out of this, but yes, I agree as well. You raised a very compelling point. Edd Shwartz (talk) 21:25, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
I'm glad you agree. While on the topic of categories, how do you guys feel about merging Category:AUPS1 Episodes and Category:Season 8 Episodes (and Category:ASYKW Episodes and Category:Season 9 Episodes). As they are exactly the same. Grapesoda22 (talk) 22:57, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
I've been meaning to do just that eventually, it just kind of just lost in the transition haha. I was not fond of the former categories using acronyms.
On the topic of the cold opening category, what do you guys think about creating a page that lists all of them? That would probably be more useful than a category that just lists all of the season 1-3 + Allen episodes. --Siberian99 (talk) 23:07, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
Sure, I like the idea. We could even post links for the DW/Steve intros, like this, as [adult swim] posted most of them online. Grapesoda22 (talk) 01:07, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

I agree on both topics. I've wanted to compile a list of the Dr. Weird Openings for a very long time. I'll get to work on compiling all Cold Openings very, very soon. Edd Shwartz (talk) 01:25, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

Misinformation

So apparently, I was reading the aricle Remooned, and I noticed how the page started to deviante ATROCIOUSLY from the actual episode.

Below, you can see the edit made by Ed Schwartz, and the new revision made by me.

Can someone please explain to me W-H-Y do we have people editing the articles if they haven't even seen all of the episode yet?

Fowburner (talk) 18:31, July 13, 2014 (UTC)

I fail to see why it is necessary for you to act as though the episode was filled with vandalism. Previous contributors merely got some of the information in the wrong order. They did see the episode; they just didn't know every single detail. I don't want to speak for him, but Siberian99 cannot be held responsible for every edit that was made between the time User:MasterShake left and the time he adopted the wiki. We have over 450 different articles to think about. We have a lot of things that need to be taken care of, such as the "Featured Characters" section of each episode. I may have edited the page a few times, but I can't be held responsible for everything on the page. Sometimes, a user is just browsing "Trivia" and decides to fix a grammar mistake, completely missing a piece of misinformation in the "Plot" section. They may be editing the plot section, without looking at the "Trivia" section. As long as their edits are necessary and follow the style guide, it shouldn't matter if they didn't read the full article. It's about the big picture.
I don't mean to discourage you from editing, but you seem to not understand how hard it is for a wiki to survive with only two people who frequently contribute, especially when there was a two or three year period with no active administrators. You did a fine job editing the page, but this is a wiki that anyone can edit, so you shouldn't expect everyone who has ever edited the wiki to be making edits in good faith. There ARE vandals out there, and there ARE people who haven't read the policies, but you can't expect perfection from everything on the wiki.
On a side note, it's "Edd Shwartz" not "Ed Schwartz." I could understand misspelling the second part of my user name, but it's not hard to notice that I named myself after a character from Ed, Edd n Eddy. If this mistake was due to autocorrect, then I do apologize. Edd Shwartz (talk) 19:33, July 13, 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for your edit, we would be happy if you continued to contribute to the Wiki. However, please note that the episode page has always been poorly written, and Edd's edit seemed to be more about fixing grammar and spelling. It is not his fault.
Also, the attitude isn't really needed. Even if he did make a mistake, we discuss it politely, fix it and move on. Being hostile to contributors doesn't help a community run Wiki all, especially when there are only a handful of contributors right now. --Siberian99 (talk) 22:46, July 13, 2014 (UTC)
